Are you thoughtful, growth-oriented, and a little “weird” Or maybe you’re queer, nontraditional, or neurodivergent? Do cultural and personal storytelling and mythologies intrigue you?
You’re in the right place! I’m Xero (they/them), and my approach to therapy is driven by curiosity about people’s stories, perspectives, and lived experiences. I support individuals and relationships in a wide range of needs (depression, anxiety, communication, etc.); besides supporting general needs, my focus areas include: neurodivergence (esp. ADHD; autism); sex, intimacy; sexual trauma; queerness/LGBTQ+; nonstandard relationships (polyam, kink, etc.); and religious/cult trauma.
My primary counseling methodology is intersectionality-informed narrative therapy; in short, we work together to re-examine and rebuild the past and ongoing stories of your life so they can be more beneficial for your future. I use a question-based framework, focusing on where individual identity intersects the messy sociocultural baggage, we all carry. My approach to therapy is adaptive, flexible, and eclectic, and I often use multiple techniques (including DBT, systems theory, and others).
I encourage openness and radical honesty; a comfortable, casual aesthetic is encouraged, and profanity is welcome (as long as it’s not directed at someone else in the room!).
If you’re in need and feel like we’d be a good match, don’t hesitate to connect at xero@ciascounseling.com; we can set up a free 15-minute consult to answer questions, ensure we’re a good match, and discuss further details. I look forward to hearing from you!
