Rebeca Roqueni
LMHC & Clinical Director
Hello, I’m Rebeca Roqueni, MA, LMHCA. I provide counseling that focuses on how life events, transitions, and systemic pressures shape our emotional well-being. I begin with the question, “What happened to you?” rather than “What’s wrong with you?”—recognizing that our responses are often natural adaptations to stress, loss, or trauma rather than flaws to fix. I view therapy as a confidential, supportive space to realign with your inherent capacity for balance, connection,
and self-trust.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling from Antioch University Seattle’s School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sonoma State University. My approach is compassionate and nonjudgmental, integrating person-centered, multicultural, and liberation-focused frameworks. I draw from Internal Family Systems–informed parts work, polyvagal theory, and somatic awareness to support nervous system stabilization and emotional regulation. Sessions may include noticing the body’s cues for safety and connection, exploring protective patterns, and gently expanding capacity for self-understanding. I also use a harm-reduction lens when working with addiction or self-soothing behaviors, emphasizing curiosity and safety rather than judgment.
Through the Antioch University Seattle Clinic and the Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS), I have provided individual counseling and facilitated groups for new parents adjusting to early parenthood. I have experience supporting clients with depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity, grief, relationship challenges, and domestic violence.
As a Latinx and Indigenous-identifying therapist (Yaqui descent), I bring awareness to how identity and belonging intersect with emotional health. I value authenticity, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience, and I welcome clients of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures.
Outside of my counseling work, I enjoy caring for plants, connecting with friends and family, and finding new ways to appreciate humanity and nature—experiences that deepen the empathy and presence I bring to my work.
