May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to reflect on how mental health impacts our lives, relationships, and communities. At Circle in a Square Counseling, we know that mental health deserves attention every day, not just once a year. We serve clients across Washington State through accessible telehealth services, focusing on care, connection, and providing therapy that fits your needs—no matter where you are.
Whether you live in Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Olympia, Vancouver, Bellevue, or anywhere in Washington, our mission is to support you through culturally attuned, inclusive care that meets you where you are.
What Mental Health Awareness Really Means
In Washington and beyond, many of us are facing anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, and trauma. These challenges don’t always show up in visible ways, and they can be made worse by systems that overlook or dismiss our full identities.
Mental health awareness is about more than information. It’s about:
Naming the barriers that keep people from care
Making space for every person’s emotional experience
Challenging harmful stigmas
Creating access to support that respects culture, identity, and lived experience
From the Olympic Peninsula to Eastern Washington, your mental health matters.
What Therapy Can Look Like in Washington
Therapy is not just for when you are in crisis. It can be a space for exploration, support, and growth at any stage of your journey.
Our clients come to therapy for a wide range of reasons:
Managing daily stress and anxiety
Healing from trauma
Strengthening boundaries
Navigating identity and relationships
Building emotional resilience
At Circle in a Square Counseling, we offer in-person and virtual therapy for individuals and couples throughout Washington State. We are committed to helping you find the right therapist for your needs — someone who listens without judgment and holds space for your full self.
Why Representation Matters in Mental Health Care
We believe therapy should reflect and respect the people it serves. That’s why we prioritize care that is inclusive, culturally responsive, and affirming. The mental health field has too often left out BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and disabled communities — we’re working to change that.
Our therapists bring a range of identities and approaches so that clients across Washington can access support that feels grounded and real.
Local Resources for Mental Health Support
If therapy is not accessible to you right now, there are still meaningful ways to care for your mental health. Washington has community resources that provide support, education, and healing in various forms.
Here are some Washington-based mental health resources:
Therapy Fund Foundation — funding therapy for BIPOC individuals
Washington Listens — free phone support during stress or crisis
Local wellness centers, peer groups, and support networks throughout Seattle, Tacoma, and Eastern Washington
Healing can happen in many ways — and there’s no single right starting point.
You Deserve Support That Feels Right for You
Mental health awareness is about honoring your experiences and knowing that you don’t have to go through them alone. Every part of your story matters, and you deserve care that is compassionate, affirming, and accessible.
If you’re ready to connect with a therapist or simply explore what support could look like, Circle in a Square Counseling is here to help–find your therapist today.
